Last year a 2.0 16v ABF bottom end conversion was carried out - this was sourced from a low miler mk3 GTI 16v with 70k on it. When the bottom end was installed the following work was carried out:

new sump gasket
rear main oil seal
crank seal
clutch kit
cambelt and tensioner
genuine VW head gasket.

On top of this the clyinder had a full rebuild which included; skim, decoke, valve guides, valve stem oil seals, seats re-cut.

The Rainbow interior is in excellent condition with NO wear on the seats.

BAD BITS:
The body work is in very good condition although the drivers side has faded slightly and could probably be rectified with a machine polish. The wheels have kerbing but the tyres are all good with excellent amounts of tread. A few stone chips on the front end but thats in line with the age of the car.

The car was set up at STEALTH RACING last year by the previous owner and made 170bhp which i still have the print out for.

I can NOT stress how well this car runs! I am still in 2 minds as to whether I want to keep this as a daily - but then that would mean I have 3 cars! and with the little miles I do and having just bought a house - it just doesn't make sense!

Now for the exterior - its by no means a show stopper, there are the odd marks here and there along with what is already mentioned but as you can see from the pics nothing that can be picked up on camera. I also forgot to mention that the rear badge is missing - these can be picked up at shows/other members of the forum who are breaking cars for literally £2 posted!

Yes he spent at least £1600- £1800 to get it as good as it is and then sold it for not alot!!

Oh ok - well tell him I said hi and that the car is as sweet as it was when I got it off him but things have just changed in terms of work and I have bought a house so having 2 mk2's and a mk4 just won't go down well with the Mrs!

I actually bought this as a lil runner as I needed to sell my mk4 anni at the time but ended up keeping it for longer as it was probably a better drive than my mk4!

It was a sweet car, I always wished I had bought it before Tom.
